Building on a Legacy: The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum coming Sunday, January 15. The Boston Globe

A glossy, stand-alone magazine showcasing the expansion of one of Boston's treasures.

In January 2012, Boston's historic Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, established in 1903 by one of America's great art collectors, philanthropists, and a true character, will unveil its largest renovation ever. The $118 million addition, designed by famed architect Renzo Piano, will take what is already a landmark arts organization in Boston and double its size.

The Boston Globe, which has covered the expansion throughout its construction, will publish a special glossy magazine on January 15, 2012, that will explore the history behind this institution in Boston, its new place in the exploding art scene in Boston, what the new wing means for the Gardner, and what it means for the entire Fenway neighborhood.
